The Norwegian innovative hotel Citybox is coming to Porto Franco

Porto Franco OÜ signed an agreement with the Norwegian hotel operator Citybox to build a Citybox Hotel in the Porto Franco I building. Citybox is a chain of innovative hotels in city centers offering fully automatic service, which allows offering a reasonable price.

“Tallinn is both a historic city and a very future-oriented city. I am convinced that Citybox will be a good match for Tallinn,” says founder of Citybox, Martin Smith-Sivertsen, Chairman of the board of Citybox AS.

In such a market niche, Citybox is the first hotel in Tallinn, and I am very pleased that it comes to Porto Franco.”

Citybox Hotel in Tallinn opens in 2020 on the 1st floor of the Porto Franco I building (reception area) and on floors 3-5. The hotel has 270 rooms, including single rooms, double rooms, and 4-people family rooms. The total area of ​​the hotel is 8575m2. The target group of hotel clients are tourists in a city break and business travelers.

Citybox AS was founded in 2006 – the first Citybox hotel was opened in Norway’s second largest city, Bergen. Citybox of Oslo was opened in 2013. At the beginning of 2019, the second Citybox Hotel, the third hotel in the chain will be opened in Bergen where it has become very popular. Both the hotels in Bergen and Oslo have already been expanded, and both are above the average market occupancy, with over 80%. In the coming years, Citybox plans to expand to Denmark, Finland and other countries of the Baltic States in addition to Estonia. Citybox AS had a turnover of EUR 8.36 million in 2017. The company employs 60 persons.
